Kings of the Wyld is the swords and sorcery epic fantasy that never stops running, constantly rotating from battle to battle as its ragtag group of grizzled mercenaries try to save a missing daughter. Every character in the band is a surprising mix of heartwarming, terrifying, and ridiculous, making for an always exciting journey through monstrous and danger-ridden lands. I can’t say that I’ve ever felt so exhausted after reading a book, mostly because of how much these characters are constantly doing. Running through forests and fields, hacking and slashing creatures of all shapes and sizes, navigating magical portals, vanquishing zombies, even commandeering blimps. You name it, they’ve done it. Overall, it’s a nonstop adventure and I found myself so connected to the characters that I was a bit sad when we finally made it to the conclusion. It’s true adventure fantasy and it’s fun every step of the way.
